Were you instead looking for a List of Threadless Owl shirts?
I liked Threadless, a community-driven online t-shirt design contest and store, before they were cool. But now that everyone and their mom knows about them (for good reason, their shirts are freakin’ awesome!) there are a lot of people wondering how to grab a Threadless shirt for cheap. Not that buying one will break the bank, some shirts are priced at just $6!
Being thrifty just means you can afford more shirts though, and I wanted to share a little trick I used to snag a $100 Threadless Gift Certificate for cheap. A trick just four letters long: eBay! That’s right, every so often Threadless gift certificates pop up for sale on eBay, and if you’re lucky it’s easy to grab one at a heavy discount. Just the other day I purchased a $100 Threadless Gift Certificate for $50 on eBay. Luckily, Threadless was also having a t-shirt sale (they do this often), and I was able to order 9 shirts (with shipping!). That comes to like what, an average of $5.55 a shirt?! Schweet. Couple that with the fact that Threadless will pay me $1.50 for each photo I submit of myself wearing one of their shirts, and I basically only paid about $4.00 per item of clothing. Triple schweet.
So give it a try. eBay first, search for a good deal, then hit up Threadless and order what your heart desires. I’m putting together a post of some of the best shirts, so stay tuned!
People are often shocked that you can sell a gift cert on eBay. I had a $100 gift certificate to Staples, and someone paid $85 for it. I had received it for free, so it was a great deal for both of us. eBay is a great place to shop for gift certs.
Many time Gift Certificates purchased on ebay were bought fraudulently. This should not be a recommended place to buy gift certificates. If this is the case for the gift certificate that you purchase, you may be out the money that you paid for it. If you need a GC, go to the site you want to buy it from. It may not be a “deal”, but its better than paying $85 and getting nothing b/c you were scammed.
I’ve purchased about 3 Threadless gift certs on eBay and have not had a problem. I’ve been an eBay user for a long time and I think – due to their feedback system and Paypal protection – the possibility of fraud is quite minimal. I’ve never been ‘scammed’ in any sense (aside from having the odd CD case crushed in the mail due to poor packaging).
